About

I’m a husband & father of two. For the past several years, I have been working in the field of sustainability. I was the City of Green Bay’s Clean Energy Connector, until the grant money ran out. More recently, I worked with a food recovery organization that addresses food waste and insecurity. My wife and I also have a small food processing company called uBu Foods. Formerly, I was the owner of Kavarna Coffeehouse, Parisi’s Delicatessen, the Locktender’s House, and Liberty Café, all in the Green Bay area. We got out of that biz in 2019.

A couple of things about me: In 2016, I founded a book festival called UntitledTown, only to watch the Pandemic kill it (though it’s coming back in September!). Among other things, I got to have dinner with Margaret Atwood. I also started a citizen’s group to fight the construction of a Walmart Supercenter along the Fox River. We won. Some day, I’ll get that story down on paper.

Art & Photography

At age 51, I’m an aspiring artist and photographer. About four years ago, I decided to make an effort to exhibit my work. 2025-26 though, holy crap, let’s just say I’ve been distracted.

Statement

Generally, I’m interested in the intersection of nature and the built environment, particularly where it’s difficult to discern. I’m also interested in the people you find there.
