About

I’m a husband & father of two. I’m currently the Clean Energy Connector for the City of Green Bay. Until recently, I was the Chief Chickpea Officer at uBu Foods. I’m also the former owner of Kavarna Coffeehouse, Parisi’s Delicatessen, the Locktender’s House, and Liberty Café, all in the Green Bay area. We sold in 2019.

A couple of things about me: In 2016, I founded a book festival called UntitledTown, only to watch the Covid Pandemic kill it. But it was fun while it lasted and I got to have dinner with Margaret Atwood. I also started a citizen’s group with some friends to fight the construction of a Walmart Supercenter along the Fox River and won. Some day, I’ll get that story down on paper.

alexgalt.com is my personal website and reflects my interests. I’ve broadly categorized posts with the tags: “Thoughts & Etudes,” “Sustainability,” “Culture Desk,” and “Photography.” I also post on Bluesky. I can be reached at alex@starheartnautilus.com. You can connect with me at LinkedIn here.

Art & Photography

At age 50, I’m an aspiring artist and photographer. About four years ago, I decided to make an effort to exhibit my work. 2025 though, holy crap, let’s just say I’ve been distracted.

Statement

Generally, I’m interested in the intersection between nature and the built environment, particularly where it’s difficult to discern. I’m also interested in the people you find there.
